West Highland White Terrier

"Westie"

The West Highland White Terrier also known as the "Westie" is known for its strong-willed personality and a remarkably bright white coat. It has several traits one or some of which many fall in love with. These dogs are used in a variety of ways, as pets, show dogs, working dogs and excels in agility and obedience competitions.

This breed is very people oriented, independent, fairly friendly to strangers and gets along with children. They love companionship and when bored they can find trouble. They are highly intelligent and easy to train. They make very good watch dogs and love to travel with you.

Fun, spunky, playful and faithful these dogs make a wonderful companion.

Weight: 13-22 Pounds
Life Expectancy: Approx: 15 Years
Grooming:
Needs very few baths. The hard outer coat is easily kept clean with a brush and occasional dry cleaning. This is done by brushing white powdered chalk or corn starch into the coat. When the powder is brushed out, the soil comes with it.

Children: Best with older children
