The Beagle

The most famous and recognized Beagle of all is "Snoopy". This breed is a gentle and sweet loving dog with an even temper and gentle disposition.

They generally tend to not be aggressive nor timid. They enjoy the company of their family best and can be prone to seperation anxiety. But this breed does not make a good watch dog because although they are initially standoffish with strangers, they are easily won over. They have a bark or howl that can be annoying to some.

These dogs have been used as detection dogs in the beagle brigade of the United States Department of Agriculture. There use is to detect food items in luggage being taken into the United States.

These are sociable and brave hunting dogs.

Weight: 20-25 Pounds
Life Expectancy: Approx: 12-15 Years
